Today I started looking for some new headphones because this problem is one that shouldn't have to be dealt with. So then I was left with a dilemna, either continuing muting my mic, or play with sub-par volume. I can't enjoy the richness in sound if I can barely hear anything.Ĭontinuing, I continued by going into the xbox settings and turning up the headset volume there.only one problem, it brought the echo back. only one problem, the headset at max volume is probably 50% of the volume of the headset + the adapter. so then I unplugged the xbox adapter, and found that at headset max volume, TODAH, the problem is fixed. I then messed with all the xbox settings, and the result was still the same: even if I heard NOTHING, if the mic is unmutted, they hear EVERYTHING. Then i turned the volume down on the headset (itself) so that I heard NOTHING, shot a shotgun in fortnite, and found that he heard the shotgun shot at MAX volume.

At first, I thought it was an audio issue (since I like to keep the volume on max), so I turned my headset volume down, and people told me that they could still hear it, so I submitted a ticket to the support team, and although I got a reply, I didn't get the notification about the ticket until a week later, and by then, I guess the ticket expired. I normally mute my mic when I'm not talking, but i found out that not only does my audio chat echo when I plug in my headset, so does my game. I have the Arctic 5s and have had them for two years, aside from this little defect/hiccup, they are the best headphones I've tried so far (tried turtle beaches and tritons). I didn't notice it, or rather it didn't bother me, until a month ago. I've had this same exact problem for awhile.
